The Bible

Both Universalism and Unitarianism emerged from Christianity, and though few Unitarian Universalists would today consider themselves Christians, the Bible remains part of our religious heritage.  Indeed, the Fourth Source listed in the covenant that Unitarian Universalist congregations make with one another is “Jewish and Christian teachings which call us to respond to God’s love by loving our neighbors as ourselves”.  Turning to that part of our living tradition, then, especially at times such as Easter, some of my sermons have focused more directly on various parts of the Bible.
